Music Is Healing has held events nationwide since 2013, providing a space for artists of all walks to come together and share works in progress in a supportive atmosphere.
The Unity through Music festival grows out of our mission to improve the livability and vitality of the Mt Shasta area community, by using music as a vehicle for social change to break down barriers
of difference and discrimination in order to bring people together in unity. The purpose of the festival is to empower all residents to achieve at the level of their
optimal well-being (mentally, physically, socially and spiritually). It builds on the premise of the idea that individual wellness depends on community wellness,
which in turn connects to environmental wellness, to which green spaces contribute much.
The festival is a unique opportunity to connect with people from all backgrounds and style of self-expression (artists, authors, poets, musicians, dancers,
media-makers, teachers, activists, organizers, healers, farmers etc). We envision a cohesive and vibrant autonomous touring collective creating diverse forms of
cultural production (media, music, murals, podcasts, documentary film events) through this series of annual celebrations.
